Authentic Aboriginal cultural storytelling experiences

Black Bird offers unique cultural storytelling experiences. We share our family history, the stories of the land we’re on, stories of the land we’re from, who we are and how we fit into the world today.

We work with diverse groups, including schools, businesses, community groups and workplaces. Our offering can be curated to suit your needs. Reach out and we can design something engaging for your audience.

Luke and Ava Brock Aboriginal cultural storytellers from North East Victoria Indigo Shire

About Us

Luke and Ava are compelling storytellers and cultural knowledge holders from the Kerrupjmara clan (fresh water people). They founded Black Bird in 2023 to share traditional and modern stories of Aboriginal culture, experience, people, and country.

Black Bird is the name of their totem, the red-tailed black cockatoo. It fosters a connection to family history and an embodiment of what they seek to represent.

“It gets people talking, and it gives people an opportunity to think. It opens their way to a new way of working, teaching, and thinking”

- Ava
